We
have been making our award-winning dairy ice cream from the same site in
Edgworth Village since 1929 when John and Mary Holden first developed the
original ice cream recipe that is still served in our cafes and shops
today.  Our milk comes from Holstein
Friesian cows who graze in the fields of the same farm we have always worked
with, less than a mile up the road from our original shop.  The ice cream is made using the same
time-honored methods that were used back at the start but over the years we
have developed more flavours but the principle of creating the best quality
artisan ice cream remains at the heart of everything we do.  Our ice cream doesn’t melt as soon as you
look at it as it has unique characteristics such as large ice crystals
within.   The business is now run by
Richard and Lucy Cort who cherish their heritage whilst ensuring the brand
continues to evolve and remain relevant for today's customers.

 We have recently redeveloped the look and feel
of the brand to keep it relevant whilst still honoring our rich heritage.   In 2022 we opened a further ice cream shop
in Whalley, set deep in the heart of Ribble Valley.  In 2023 we opened the doors of our new deli
and café in Abbey Village in Chorley and in December 2023 we expanded the shop
in Whalley to incorporate a new Artisan Deli and Café.

We
are proud to showcase the best of Lancashire Food and drink and we aim to
create destination locations where customers can come and browse and shop and
enjoy all the county has to offer all served up with a good old-fashioned
Lancashire Welcome.
